Here we are again, at the fresh start of a new year. But before let’s round up the things we did last year. 2019 has been good to us with new projects, inspiring work, fresh beginnings, trainings, conferences, workshops, social activities and a lot of travel.

Take a moment to turn back for a while and remember some of the biggest highlights of the past year.

We launched new products for our clients NAOS, Aegon, Mapfre and Fortebank.

We continued innovating for amazing brands like İşbank and Pegasus Airlines. Plus we worked on many global projects in various countries.

Our big data analytics and engagement platform continued empowering marketing and product teams to accelerate their digital growth.

With Commencis’ help as a trusted partner, İşBank and Pegasus Airlines apply forward looking insights gained from big data and analytics as well as mobile technologies to quickly respond to changing customer needs.

Commencis cloud services continued accelerating the cloud transformation of businesses.

We joined our forces with finleap, Europe’s leading fintech ecosystem to form a new joint venture, a software development company, finbyte based in Berlin.

finbyte already welcomed new team members that will take part in innovative projects that will reshape the future of finance.

We created our values with the collaborative effort of Commencers through our workshops. During the process, rather than writing out how we would like to be, we focused on describing what we already do at Commencis.
Our values define how we do business, interact with each other and our stakeholders- and they underpin our company culture.

• Commencis Cloud Camp was successfully conducted over the course of 12 weeks, bringing together young, bright individuals interested in the field of Cloud.

• We shared our experiences with future engineers at React Native Training program organized together with Bogazici University COMPEC in March.

• GDG Turkey community met at Commencis meet-up on Building and Securing APIs.

• React Turkey community members from all over the country came together to recount their experiences at React Day on May 25.

We’ve been around the world for different projects at New Jersey, London, Berlin, Paris, Helsinki, Riga, Belgrad, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Yerevan and others.

We value learning and development at Commencis. In 2019, we spent more than 2200 hours for internal & external trainings. We also attended a bunch of conferences at London, Berlin, Zurich, Bologna, Lefkosia and İstanbul.

We continued growth in social media reaching more than 30 K followers on all our channels.

We were mentioned around 450 times throughout the year, had more than 40 media interviews and news in the media. For more you can check our Newsroom.

With all our digital campaigns we reached more than 7 million people!

We managed to write about 25 blog posts on top of everything else. Some of our most popular articles were a guide for startups about bringing a product or service into fruition, this one on wedding experience design, this one about using Flutter on mobile app development.

• We also contributed to Marmara University students and helped primary schools in Manisa and Diyarbakır to bring their classroom dreams into life.

• We’re happy to be sponsors of the talented and successful Sinop Youth Sports Club Rowing Team. They were amazing in 2019!

• Rising public awareness on climate change issue was another priority for us in 2019. Climate change is one of the biggest threats in our times and we believe that changing our habits and routines are the first step towards creating a lasting impact. That’s why we published a video during the Global Climate Strike in last September.

• Our next action was to remove paper cups from our offices. We’ll continue our efforts on the topic in 2020 too!

We had happy hours, terarrium and cooking workshops, team dinners, museum visits, our traditional Summer Picnic, New Year Party and more stuff.

We are a community of designers, strategists, technology enthusiasts, developers and researchers focusing on changing the way amazing brands do business. Our talented and curious team has grown quite a bit in 2019 and we are more than 200 Commencers now! We also continued to grow our new venture finbyte’s office in Berlin.
